This page sprung out of the realization that when I was
compiling my thesis there were no Latex style files for the
UCF official thesis and dissertation format.
Long time has passed since and now I have recently updated this
page with the 2004 compliant UCF thesis and dissertation latex
files to format my dissertation. Sadly, UCF still do not provide
official latex files (even thought they provide a MS Word templates!)
These files are provided to be "used at your own risk". If you
improve or update the files, please send me an email so other users
can also benefit from the improvements.
Here a zip version, also the individual files here.
paper.tex is a sample with some comments
paper.pdf is the paper.tex compiled using MiKTeX 2.1 with the following commands: "latex paper" and "dvipdfm paper"
*.clo are the UCF thesis and dissertation class files
myhyperref.sty creates automatically the PDF links required by UCF on the table of content
If you are using this files ... it means you are graduating, so, congratulations on your achievement!!!
I know of quite a good number of students like you that have successfully graduated using this UCF Latex Class.
Another issue is that UCF do not provide any binding services. I bound mine at
(good quality and price)
National Library Binding Company
(800) 422-7908
100 Hembree Park Drive
Roswell, Georgia 30076
You will need to print your copies and Fedex them to them. They have the UCF format ready and
the only think you need to specify is if you want the UCF logo in the front (5 more dollars). The following is
from the UCF graduate studies site:
"...Prices begin at $35.00 for a single copy, $17.50 each for two copies, and $16.50 each for
three or more copies. Price includes front lettering (manuscript title and full name) and spine lettering (last name and year).
If you would like to include the UCF logo, there will be an additional $5.00 fee per copy. Binding takes approximately
four weeks. *This is the company UCF currently uses for its own library binding. "
